Is SEO Coming to an End?

The end of SEO has been on the minds of a lot of people who work with online marketing, but is it possible for SEO to just end? Some feel that with Google changing their algorithms more frequently, the search giant is trying to get the top search results to have more meaning based on the content, "likes", and "shares".

Yes, having search results return more meaningful content is a great thing, but I don't think factoring "likes" and "shares" into the mix should play a huge role in returning an item to the first result page. Why? Well, "likes" and "shares" in my opinion have a big popularity base and problem. I do try to like and share items that are meaningful and have great informative content, but a lot of the times I think people (myself included) like or share the silly, cute, and stupid items. Perhaps this could also mean or show how society intellect is moving downward?

Is it fair the online marketers can over load posts with keywords and tricks to make sure their items ranks at the top, some would say no. I don't think SEO will just dispear or be forever done with by the internet companies. SEO will have a valid in returning search results, but the issue remains in how much weight to give SEO.
